The Indian Film Industry is considered to be the largest film industry that churns out maximum films in various languages. While storytelling is finding new forms and revolution each year, there are a handful of films which are adapted by best-selling books, both Indian and international. The trend of turning books into major motion pictures is a worldwide phenomenon and these below 5 actors will soon be seen in the on-screen adaptations of popular bestselling novels and books.
Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan - The Zoya Factor
It was reported last year that actress Sonam Kapoor bought the rights of two best-seller books to be adapted in feature films. The books Govinda by Krishna Udayasankar’s and Battle of Bittora by Anuja Chauhan has all the elements to be converted into interesting Bollywood feature films as mentioned by Sonam. Other than these two projects which are in pipeline she will be soon seen in an adaptation of best selling novel The Zoya Factor by Anuja Chauhan into a major motion picture film. The film stars Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan. It will be Dulquer's second film in Bollywood. The film Zoya Factor is a rom-com set in the era of 1983 world cup till 2010 when India again won the second world cup having Sonam in a titular role Zoya Solanki.
Vijay Varma - A Suitable Boy
The immensely talented actor Vijay Varma took everyone with surprise by his superlative performance in Gully Boy followed by a cameo role in recently released film Super 30. It was recently announced Vijay will be seen in two important projects back to back, a film Hurdang starring Vijay, Sunny Kaushal and Nushrat Bharucha in lead pair which he already begins shooting in Prayagraj. The most exciting part for Vijay will be is he will be seen in an author-backed role for BBC series to be directed by ace international filmmaker Mira Nair. The series titled A Suitable Boy is the adaption of a popular bestseller novel with the same name. The novel is written by Vikram Seth and has more than 1300 pages. Vijay will be seen portraying the role of Rasheed, who is a student at Brahmpur University. It's a dream come true for Vijay having to work with one of the best talents of all time.
Sushant Singh Rajput - Dil Bechara
The suave actor Sushant Singh Rajput has come a long way carving his own path in Bollywood being an outsider. Sushant started off his acting career from television jumping into films with his debut film Kai Po Che. Since then, there has been no stopping for this versatile actor. Soon he will be seen in a film by casting director Mukesh Chabbra Dil Bechara earlier titled Kizie Aur Manny. The story is based on the novel The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. The film also marks the directorial debut of Mukesh Chabbra. The film Dil Bechara narrates the tale of two teenagers, who are both battling terminal diseases, and find love in each other.
Parineeti Chopra - The Girl on the Train
Actress Parineeti Chopra was last seen in Kesari in a cameo and is now all geared up for her next Jabariya Jodi opposite Sidharth Malhotra. Recently, Pari took to Twitter announcing her next after Jabariya Jodi, tentatively titled The Girl on the Train. The film is adapted from the bestseller novel The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. The book is already been made in Hollywood by Steven Spielberg with the same-titled having Emily Blunt in the lead. The makers of Hindi film decided to roll the film by next month which will be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. The book narrates the story of a girl who is an alcoholic divorcee, who later is involved in a missing person's investigation in the film.
Vidya Balan - Indira India's Most Powerful Prime Minister
One of Bollywood's most talented actors Vidya Balan is all set to step into the author-backed role in her upcoming tentatively titled film Indira - India's Most Powerful Prime Minister. For the makers of the film, Vidya is a perfect choice to justify the role. The film is adapted from the book by Sagarika Ghose Indira - India's Most Powerful Prime Minister. It is going to be produced by husband Siddharth Roy Kapur. The book by Ghose is an autobiography on the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi highlighting some of the shocking incidents during her tenure.
